Just finished reading Jimmy Buffett’s Where Is Joe Merchant?, and I love the vibe. It feels a lot like a fun Elmore Leonard-like burnout caper with understated humor, fun characters, and idiot crime. I’d love to read more novels like these, particularly those that embrace that chill island vibe of the Caribbean: flip flops and sand between your toes, sleeping too late under the sun, chillin and havin a big time.
