Looking for a book to teach my almost 5 year old more about consent around physical play with friends.
For context, the issue is really when my kid is playing (especially in more excited times like outdoors on the school yard running/biking) and gets amped- my kid will often will grab, hug, get very close, pile on,etc friends in a way of trying to play. Never in an aggressive or mean way and doesn’t happen during calmer play activities. But it’s clearly too much and my kid appears to have trouble asking first or stopping the behavior after others say they aren’t into it.
We have “yes no- first conversations on consent” and read it all the time, consent has been something we’ve weaved into conversations since day 1 so we clearly need a new and/or additional approaches. Any book suggestions that maybe are even more targeted toward this?
