I am in my mid 20s (F) and i've never read a book before aside from academical ones. As a child and teen I had zero touch. I recently started reading manga and webtoons and I am having a great time so I thought maybe getting into books wouldn't be that boring. I tend to prefer things that are visualised rather than having to imagine them myself so that's the reason why I didn't try to get into this hobby earlier. However I'm a media student and I was told even by teachers a few years ago that I should know lots of writers and read books esp the classics and to always keep up with the latest releases as well. I don't want to go that deep yet but I want to get familiar with this world and figure out whether I like it or not as well as what suits me the best. After a while i'll try to invest more on knowledge.

I would appreciate any type of comment even if it's not a book recommendation but a tip or sth else that may help me. I tend to like stories that are female centric or are about slice of life , self improvement and romance. I also like pieces that have a unique approach to social or personal matters and may be unexpected. My vocabulary is kind of limited so please take it into consideration. Thank u in advance!

(Also when it comes to the ending of stories I like both sad , happy , realistic or weird endings but I'm not very sure about open ones

The Petite Prince is a beginner friendly book (so much so that it’s used in schools to help kids learn French), and it’s very moving.
