I’m looking for psychological thrillers under 300 pages — especially those with unreliable narrators, disturbing internal perspectives, or a slow, creeping sense of unease. I’m not looking for fast-paced action or police procedurals, but rather stories that get under your skin and linger.
Some favorites for context:
• The Collector by John Fowles
• I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid
• Toplin by Michael McDowell
If you know of anything similarly dark, introspective, or character-driven — I’d really appreciate the recommendations. Thank you
