I joined this group less than a year ago, and was hoping to get some book recommendations to provide me with some literary variety. I can’t find the post, but someone suggested Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. I just finished the second book and will head over to half price books to find The Mirror and the Light. I have really enjoyed it so much. I grew up in a strict church and my childhood was filled with religious texts on Sundays. The Reformation and its heavyweights were discussed frequently. I’ve enjoyed this series to give more context and a more humanist view of this time. Cromwell is such an interesting person and I have to say, Rafe Sadler is a close second. Bonus was finding out there is a Wolf Hall series on PBS. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who lists their suggestions here on any and all types of books
I’ve read some wonderful things and often recommend this sub Reddit to my younger co-workers.
