Hi! It's been a while since I've read a really good book that has stuck with me for a long time. Maybe you guys have suggestions as to what to read next? I miss getting lost in a good story! Here's a short list of some of my favorite books that really left an impression on me, or that I have even read multiple times (in order of how much I liked them):
Beatles by Lars Saabye Christensen • The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger • Short stories by J.D. Salinger, especially Perfect Day For Bananafish and For Esmé – With Love And Squalor • The My Struggle series by Karl Ove Knausgård, especially the third book where he writes about his childhood • Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov • The Perks Of Being A Wall Flower by Steve Chbosky • Of Mice And Men & East Of Eaden by John Steinbeck • A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara.
For Dutch redditors:
Wees Onzichtbaar door Murat Isik • De Engelenmaker door Stefan Brijs • Birk door Jaap Robben.
As you may notice, I really enjoy coming of age stories, 'slice of life', stories where you really get to know a character, and I prefer a 'raw', or ordinary writing style over overly poetic. There's also something in Scandinavian literature that speaks to me, for some reason. I guess I like the descriptions of the nature and culture there. Most books that I like are also realistic, and I like a raw or melancholic touch to it.
Hope someone has some good suggestions, can't wait!

The Copenhagen Trilogy by Tove Ditlevsen, beginning with “Childhood” (though I think the English edition might come with all three titles in one book).
