Book suggestions with a MC like Hercule Flambeau

I have been binging Father Brown recently and have come to the realization that some of my favorite episodes are the ones featuring the character of Hercule Flambeau. Obviously the show (and the short stories that the show is based on) is centered around the character of Father Brown, but I was hoping someone would know of some books where the MC is similar to Flambeau. Suggestions would not need to include a Father Brown like character.
