So most dystopian books I've seen are mostly set in the far out future where it's under a totalitarian rule whether by some megalomaniac/megacorp/select few. That (mostly) happened because society is already at it's "peak" where they've finalized a philosophy/way of living that works. The plot is usually a push-and-pull conflict between the consensus and opposition. Is there a book where the focus is the transition/inflection point to that state?

Like right now, we've developed and improved computers/tech from the archaic computers, 1980 PCs, 2000s phones, now for AI we have ANI/AGI/ASI, some companies are even exploring brain interface systems. Billions are being poured to develop tech, which is constantly changing the living conditions—that is also changing how people react to/live in the present.

Is there some sort of book that focuses on the transition/inflection point? Where the focus is developing the tech to reach the peak of society and how it's affecting the people/culture. A kind of boring example would be how the latter of genz is developing a shorter attention span (atleast those exposed to using phones early). And that definitely has effects as the adults of the next generation. Or how ideologies reinforced/normalized now are changing how kids are setting expectations for the future.

By inflection point I mean what we have now in the 2020s, yes tech is being developed though it's not yet the peak.

I'm open to non-fic and other genres too, as long as it's related. I've read popular works like Animal Farm, Brave New World, Arthur C. Clarke, and Heinlein…but definitely in dire need of suggestions.

Sorry my explanation is kinda all over the place, English isn't my first language.
