I've read Stieg Larsson's Millennium Series and loved it! I haven't found another book or series, apart from Harry Potter lol, that made me feel so in tune and care for the characters.
Please drop your suggestions for Nordic Noir series crime books with a similar feeling (ideally a series you have to read in order, not like Wallander where you can skip through the books because they all have their own story).

Harry Hole Series by Jo Nesbo
The Department Q series by Jussi Adler-Olsen from Denmark
Smilla’s Sense of Snow, by Peter Hoeg (Denmark)
Leena Lehtolainen’s two series, the Maria Kallio and Hilja Ilveskero books (Finland)
Harri Nykanen’s “Raid” series (Finland)
Yrsa Sigurdadottir’s series – there are 2 plus some stand-alones set in Iceland
Karin Fossum’s “Inspector Sejer” series (Norway)
Henning Mankell’s “Wallender” series (Sweden)
Sjowall and Wahloo’s “Martin Beck” series (Sweden)
It’s German rather than Nordic, but the Gereon Rath series by Volker Kutscher has a lot of similar pacing/style to a lot of Nordic noir and is historical fiction as well (set primarily in the 1930s) and super gripping.
