Female Authors and Fiction in Translation

I’m on the hunt for author recommendations! I was rearranging my bookshelf (pictured) and was struck by how male and American/British most of my books are. Just goes to show I’m missing out on a whole world of good fiction. So on the hunt for female authors and fiction in translation. I’m a big fan of Pynchon, Borges, Bulgakov, Kafka, Calvino, Robert Aickman, Cormac McCarthy and Donald Barthelme.

No need to recommend Murakami, Flannery O’Connor, Jennifer Egan or Susanna Clarke – big fans of them already.
