I'm looking for one of those simple books containing all the quirks of fantasy books (magical creatures, magic spells, wizards, knights etc…). I would enjoy it more if it consisted in a plain old and, I admit, generic good vs bad were the good guys win. Lately everything seemed to bore me so I decided to pick a book up for the first time in a while and I'd enjoy something simple but that still isn't children books. Plus I love classic chivalric tales

The Princess Bride by William Goldman
I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons by Peter S. Beagle
Okay, so these are children’s books, but I’m 45 and still reread them every few years… **The Chronicles of Prydain** by Lloyd Alexander. They’re loosely inspired by Welsh mythology, which had some overlap with Arthurian legend so there’s definitely some chivalric themes.
You might like the work of David Eddings, starting with [The Belgariad](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Belgariad). It might be longer (5 books) and a bit more complex than you say you want, but I think the effort will be worth it.
