A book that takes place in Alaska, target audience a male who loves adventure

I wanted to give an audio book to my nephew. He's taking a trip to Alaska (he's never been) and does a lot of driving for his job. He loves the subject of World War II, weapons history, and adventure/survival. He would like to listen to some books while driving around for his work. He's in his early 20's.
