My 5.5yo son watched Disney Pixar's "LUCA" about five times over spring break and was really moved by the film's themes- kid friendships (esp between boys), loyalty, social acceptance, etc. The movie brought him to tears!
I'm wondering if there are some good chapter books I could read aloud to him at this age, that would dig into similar emotional territory while still being lighthearted and fun.
