Hello, I recently started reading. I used to hate it but for some reason I’ve been tearing through books.
Recently I have read
The Big Show by Pierre Clostermann. I really enjoyed it. The chapters were very short descriptions of different experiences Pierre had during the war. I liked how easy the short chapters were. It was also nice that the chapters had different content sometimes unrelated to the last. Made it easy to read and digest.
Then I read
Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell and I didn’t much like it but begrudgingly finished the whole book. It felt a like naval propaganda and after looking it up there are some inconsistencies with his story which Im not sure the validity of. Furthermore there was a LOT of extra fluff that didn’t much add to the story. I didn’t much care for his constant descriptions of “liberal squeals” over the rules of engagement.
And finally I just finished
The Wager by David Grann and I couldn’t put it down. It was amazing. Almost impossible to believe. The amount of content in the book all felt like it added to the story.
Could you please suggest me my next book you think I’d like? Thanks!!

If you like fast paced books with short chapters I would suggest the Jack Reacher series.
Lee Child has a way of keeping the chapters short while also having an amazing talent for ending each chapter in a way that makes you want to keep going.
For example, before I read my first Reacher book, I struggled to finish a novel that was 460 pages long because it only had 19 chapters. So each chapter felt like a chore despite me loving the book itself.
In my first sitting reading Gone Tomorrow, I read over 160 pages and was already up to chapter 17 or so. En route to finishing the book in 4 days.
The previous book took me an entire month.
And pretty much every Reacher book is structured like that. So not only are they alot of fun, but they are really easy to get through. I’ve read 25 of the 29 books and none of them have taken me more than a week to get through.
Give Reacher a try
