To be clear, by "survival" I don't just mean "sometimes having to forage for food while on the run", but something with uninhabited island/postapo vibes, where the protagonist(s) aren't dealing with saving the world, studying magic, adventures, assassins(ugh), or court drama(uggghh), but rather food, water, shelter, with the added threats and possibilities that magic brings thrown into the mix.

What I'd like would be a low-ish fantasy transported-into-another-world novel where magic isn't fireballs and magic missiles, but animals that instinctively use it to cloak themselves, using their skins for camouflage, harvesting magical crystals to cast light or keep their shelter warm, staying hidden from the ogres and far away from the dragons while desperately scavenging whatever's possible – making the most out of the least, things that require ingenuity over raw power and special protagonist talents.

I'm all for it if the progression eventually goes beyond just survival, and it doesn't strictly have to be in complete isolation from civilization – a struggling last bastion of humanity would also be up me alley – I'm just curious if there's anything that fits this bill at all.
