I discovered that I appreciate Portuguese authors who end up using poetic and lyrical resources in their novels. Two of them are José Luís Peixoto and João Tordo.

Peixoto uses this resource much more (he is also a poet and has books of poetry), while Tordo ends up being more lyrical when he delves into philosophical and metaphysical reflections (he has a degree in Philosophy), but I mention both of them because, for me, they elevate the experience of reading a novel by adding this touch.

I believe that Saramago, in his verbose way, and Borges, in his ontological musings, also do this. But there are few authors I have come across who use lyrical resources (whatever they may be; whether bordering on abstraction or deconstructing the formal structure of writing). I would like to hear about books by authors who do something similar, to some extent.
