Hello everyone!
I am looking for books that have been written in either Russian or Ukrainian originally (as you surely know, the original languages contain expressions that sometimes cannot be translated accordingly) . I am using literature as a means of learning the respective languages (thus the addition modern) and would generally like to broaden my knowledge, as one would assume.
To specify what I have read and what I like to read: I am very interested in classics (as of now I am reading "Crime and Punishment"), however the problem I encounter oftentimes is that my spoken Russian seems a bit… old-fashioned, I have been told as well, so I want to "fix" (acquire modern vocab) this.
Further I really like to read things that go deep into psychology, philosophy, criticize poor circumstances (for their respective times), and non-fiction as well. Basically, anything that makes you ponder.
So, if you've got anything in mind, feel free to share.
Much obliged,
your fellow bookworm
