Suggest me a book to understand how the world works and how it came to be this way. Evolutionary psychology, anthropology, sociology … etc
Looking for sometthing scientific to understand why things are the way they are; why do some people follow trends, why corruption happens, why politics is mostly lies, why money leads to everything…. Weird description I know.
Guns Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond explains why some parts of the world could advance in technology ahead of others. (Like if you had animals around that could be herded and domesticated, that was an advantage.)
Sapiens by Yuval Harari is also a good and compact history of humans. There is also a graphic novel version in three volumes and it’s amazing how they take such abstract ideas about the development of bureaucracy and money and make it visual.
