Every only recommends the BEST books, so most suggestions, I have either already read or it's $24.99 or I have to put a hold on it in the library app, so I'm sure that I will love reading it when it's available in 26 weeks, but I want to read something now!
I've read all the best books in pretty much every genre. Unless it's straight smut, I'm not picky, so tell me what you're reading and if you'd recommend it!

I’m currently reading “The Trials of Lenny Bruce” by Ronald Collins and David Skover, and it’s very fascinating. It really makes you realize just how valuable free speech is.
It Can’t Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis, 1935 (on my library’s Hoopla), definitely recommend because it’s relevant to today but also well-written.
Children books.
Escape Room by Christopher Edge.
The Mountain in the Sea
Black Hawk Down
I bought the entire Little House On The Prairie series for $1.99 and it was so enjoyable.
I have been reading the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley lately. It’s set in the early 1950s in England and features an 11 year old girl who likes to take a very scientific approach to solving the murders that keep happening in her town. I am enjoying them and do recommend them.
you’re in the “just give me *something good and available now*” phase—and honestly? that’s where some of the best surprise reads come from
here’s a mix of *underrated, super readable, and often available without a 3-month wait* on Libby/Hoopla/KU:
* **The House in the Cerulean Sea** by TJ Klune wholesome, weird, and surprisingly deep often available on Hoopla, and feels like a warm hug
* **The Thursday Murder Club** by Richard Osman quirky old folks solving crimes fun, clever, zero edge
* **Before the Coffee Gets Cold** by Toshikazu Kawaguchi time travel + cafes + regrets short, emotional, hits hard
* **Remarkably Bright Creatures** by Shelby Van Pelt grumpy people, an octopus, healing—don’t ask, just read available in a lot of local libraries
* **The Flatshare** by Beth O’Leary rom-com with actual substance also low-hold depending on region
* **Legends & Lattes** by Travis Baldree cozy fantasy about an orc opening a coffee shop yes, really and yes, it works
* **The Spellman Files** by Lisa Lutz funny dysfunctional detective family first in a series and usually wide open on apps
and if all else fails:
sort your Libby/Hoopla filters by “available now” and pick *the third book* that looks halfway interesting
don’t overthink it—just roll the dice
