Slowly getting back into reading.

hey y’all. i’ve taken a 1.5 year hiatus from reading, at least as much as i was reading. i read 104 in 10 months in 2023. i read around 11 last year, and 7 of them were just re-reads. i’ve read two books the last two days, one was a reread.

i’ve been looking in the apple book store, and nothing is.. catching my interest. i’ll tell you what i’m looking for, they don’t need to be all in one book, but if some of the things overlap, even better.

i don’t mind smutty/spicy, i even enjoy it. i have no triggers, at least that i’ve found the last few years. i DO not enjoy a pregnancy trope, but it’s not a trigger. the two books that i’ve read lately were: Pen Pal, by JT, and Lights Out, by Nevessa. Yes, a bit much, but oh well.

I like crime, and mysteries, but not actual true crime. I still enjoy YA, and New Adult. I don’t really like anything set in the “past”, unless it’s a flashback. Here is what I’m wanting, and again, it doesn’t all need to be in a single book.

-Unreliable narrator.
-Thriller or suspense, but not horror
-Mystery
-Crime Solving
-Dark romance
-Unbelievable, didn’t see it coming, plot twist
-Whodunit
-Romantasy, but not like ACOTAR
-Retellings, ie. Greek Mythology
-Enemies to lovers
-Slow burn
-Opposites attract
-Dystopian

i cannot think of anything else at the moment. i know there’s a lot, and while i scrolled thru this subreddit, i didn’t see very many spicy books. that’s fine. i dont NEED those. thanks in advance, yall.
