I really enjoyed the throne of glass series and once upon a broken heart series, I honestly love the world building and that in both series the main characters had genuine quirks and interesting personalities and obviously the plot too. The recommendations I keep seeing everywhere either contain more smut than plot or are just the same regurgitated plot over and over again.

The Lord of the Rings
*D’Shai* by Joel Rosenberg
*The Spirit Ring* by Lois McMaster Bujold.
The Daevabad trilogy by SA Chakraborty. The struggle for the throne plot is amazing, there is a really good show burn romance, and the characters are so vibrant.
Hey! I’ve read the Caravel series by Stephenie Meyers and the first book of her Once Upon a Broken Heart series (read just a little of Throne of Glass). I’ve also read A LOT of young adult fantasy. I trust you’ll enjoy at least one of these.
* Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: if you had to read a book on this list, pick this one as I can almost guarantee you’ll enjoy it— all the characters have distinct and interesting personalities and the worldbuilding is spectacular.
* Sorcery of Thrones by Margaret Rogerson: magical libraries, sorcerors, and a strong female protagonist
* These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong: 1920s Shanghai, two rival gangs, a Shakespeare retelling, and a monster.
* Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson: this book bridges the gap between young adult and adult fantasy and it shows in the complexity of the worldbuilding (the best in the YA genre IMO), plot, and great characters. He also has another young adult novel called Skyward (but its science fiction).
* Miscellaneous fantasy recommendations that are still really good but have a somewhat different vibe from your target books: The House on the Cerulean Sea, The Song of Achilles, A Darker Shade of Magic, The Night Circus.
