I'm interested in reading more, and I figure the easiest way for me to get into reading is to find stuff that's adjacent to the other forms of media I consume.
I'm into darker music/tv/movies but every time I look for a book that follows similar themes I'm confronted by a bunch of Dark Romance / Adult Novels.
Are there any books that tackle darker themes that aren't overtly sexual in nature?

Define what you mean by that, “dark” can mean everything
I’m assuming by “dark” you kind of mean more along the lines of literary/with depth, but that might not be what you mean, in which case you probably shouldn’t listen to these recs.
*The Secret History* by Donna Tartt
*Giovanni’s Room* by James Baldwin (it does have adult themes/is “sexual,” but not in the manner of a romance)
*The Vegetarian* or *Human Acts* by Han Kang
*Wuthering Heights* by Emily Brontë
I haven’t heard great things about *A Little Life,* but it *is* dark I think.
They also all do have adult themes, so if you actually just don’t want sex then…*Wuthering Heights* might be the only one that works (so does *Human Acts,* but TW: SA)
