Not films based on books, but the other way round- books adapted from films. They used to be much more common in the days when it was harder to rewatch a favourite film, and they'd often have the strapline 'the Book of the Film'. What are some great ones?

For those that are Star Wars inclined: the Revenge of the Sith novelization is fantastic!
Alan Dean Foster’s written quite a few good ones, but 8m especially partial to his Alien books.
The Dark Crystal novelization is excellent
I also really like The Goonies novelization. Oddly enough, it says that Mikey (Sean Astin) has “hobbit-sized” feet, which is a pretty funny bit of foreshadowing.
I’ve read excerpts of the novelization of the live action Dora the Explorer movie and it gleefully goes off the rails several times. (Lots of self-awareness and meta humor.)
