Unknowingly when I chose them, the first three books I’ve read this month have had a character, lead or supporting, with autism. With it being Autism Awareness Month I would love to read more books with a character either lead or supporting with autism in them to finish off the month.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. The protagonist is not identified as autistic, but carries many qualities associated with autism. I’m an English teacher and I have taught the novel to my AP students for about the past 12 years. It’s a stellar story.
The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd.
Going Postal by Terry Pratchett is a delight, and one of my favorite things about it is a supporting character who is particularly literal-minded and enthusiastic about his special interests.
