My husband just finished the first 3 books of the Red Rising series and LOVED it, but he wants to read something different before starting the next 3, so he’s looking for a stand alone book to listen to while taking a break.

He hasn’t historically been a big reader, but he started listening to audiobooks on his commute and has been devouring them. He loves the Eragon series and Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. He enjoys adventures and appreciates comedic relief. Anything with dragons or space would definitely capture his attention.

    Appreciate any and all recommendations!

For humor and dragons, my standard recommendation is Terry Pratchett’s Guards! Guards! It’s the first of its particular series and stand alone nicely.

I prefer single-narrator recordings (the newest Pratchett releases are full-cast), but the older ones are still available through many local libraries.

The Bobiverse by Dennis E Taylor. It is a series, but the first book is pretty much a stand alone.
