I'm trying to get back into reading and I thought that doing so with my favourite fantasy species would work pretty well!

I'd like if the protagonist were a vampire, or at least we're for over 80% of the book, I'm not interested in a human protagonist and a vampire lead or something like that. I also sympathise much more with female protagonists, specially if they're strong.

I'm ok with any genre I can think of like fantasy, action, horror, mystery, (mafia would be cool but I don't know if that exists) or romance, etc, but I'm pickier with the latter. I don't have a problem with power disparities as long as it's not in a romantic relationship (I've heard a lot of vampire book's focus is on that), I don't like relationships were one holds more power than the other nor when they're abusive but shown as something good.

I also like happy endings, or at least bittersweet, I'm bad handling purely sad endings. This is very important to be honest, I'm really bad with sad endings lol.

I'm also a fan of past times, modernity is ok and future I'm not too interested unless it's something like cyberpunk or steampunk, though I'm open minded.

I don't know if it's important but last books I read are 'Murder in Orient Express', 'Overlord', and 'The Prince and the Pauper' and I liked them all, though the last one was much tougher to finish I must admit.

Sorry if I wrote too much and sorry for the grammar if I made a mistake, English is my second language (though I can read books in it perfectly fine).

    Thanks!! <3

Here are a few books with a female vampire protagonist that might grab you:

      * *Sunshine* by Robin McKinley: A baker with a mysterious past gets drawn into the world of vampires and dark magic. She’s a strong lead, and it’s got a good mix of action and intrigue with a satisfying ending.
      * *Certain Dark Things* by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: This one’s set in modern-day Mexico City and features a descendant of Aztec blood drinkers on the run. It’s action-packed, has a cool take on vampire lore, and the ending is bittersweet but hopeful.
      * *A Dowry of Blood* by S.T. Gibson: This is a retelling from the perspective of one of Dracula’s brides. It’s atmospheric and focuses on her strength and survival. The ending might be a touch more bittersweet, but it’s powerful.
