    hello everyone

so i saw a quote a while back somewhere and can't for the life of me remember which book or essay it's from.

the best way i can describe it is by saying it's most likely either sylvia plath or virginia woolf, and the general idea of the quote is about the struggles of being a woman seeing yourself through the male gaze. it mentioned something about having an always present onlooker who is judging you even if there's no one physically there (the onlooker being the male gaze we're conditioned to cater to). i also remember the quote spanning more than a couple lines, it was more like a paragraph – so i'm assuming it's from a body of work rather than a random one off thing one of them said somewhere.

that's the best i can do at describing it but if you have any questions which may lead us further towards finding it i'd love to try answering! and i'll be suuuuper grateful to anyone who helps me find this because it's SUCH a brain itch!!!

    thank you!
