I recently finished 'what is history' by E H Carr, it has been one of my favourite books that has explored a subject, its goals and limitations. I am seeking similar books on subjects like Economics (especially), Geography, Policy, Statistics among others. I would also prefer books that focus on the positive rather than normative aspects.
I am looking for books that teach how to analyse and understand the subject so you can form your own opinions and observations.
For example, I also enjoyed 'How to Read a Book', though its oriented towards a skill (reading) than a subject.
