I know it’s pretty specific, but I’m not the biggest reader in the world, and I’ve been struggling lately to find a book which is engaging for me.
I recently read Painted house by John Grisham and I’ve been trying to find something alike ever since.
I loved the writing style, the point of view of a little boy, how the child’s simple thoughts were written in a very emotionally mature/aware way, yet they weren’t thoughts of an adult.
Also, there is something about rural America in the first half of 20th century which I really enjoy.
I also read “Where the crawdads sing” which is similar in a lot of ways and I loved that as well.
Only other book I can think of is Of Mice and Men, but I read that a long time ago.
I’d be thankful for any suggestions.
EDIT: Thanks for all the recommendations, I’m putting them on my read list!
