Something along the lines of “on earth we’re briefly gorgeous” and “this is how you lose the time war”. I want something that will make me tab every page for quotes:)
Ty in advance!
Just finished reading Trías’ Pink Slime today, which is poetic in style as well as having poems separating each “chapter” (although I preferred her The Rooftop).
Can’t go wrong with any Cormac McCarthy as well…

on earth were briefly gorgeous has such lyricism it’s hard to rival, and I know the author, Ocean Vuong, has anthologies that are worth looking into!
However, some beautiful lyricism books that have the same ish vibe as those two:
1. The song of Achilles by Madeline miller, it gets a lot of hype and was well loved in 2010 – there is a war, Achilles and Patroclus are ✨room mates✨ love, devastation, tears – in summation.
2. Yellowface by RF Kuang, she really really has a way with words, I loved Babel by her also! Will scratch the “on earth we’re briefly gorgeous itch”

Death in Spring by Merce Rodoreda has a very lyrical quality to it that I love.

*Pale Fire* by Vladimir Nabokov

‘Orbital’ by Samantha Harvey is an award winning novella that had some of the most beautiful phrasing I’ve ever read. I’d never used the highlight feature of my kindle until that book.

_The Names_ by Don Delillo
No-Strawberry-5804 on
A Study in Drowning

The Night Circus

The River Has Roots (?)
Not ALL of it, but it does have beautiful prose and some poetic parts.
