Normally I don't set my books down for long and plow through them. I now have a newborn so I need something I can keep putting down.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a book that is ideal for lots of pauses and erratic resuming?
Maybe one that big ideas that would be good to marinate on, but not Sound and The Fury level difficulty since I'm not getting great sleep 🙃
I am game for any genre, but would like to avoid anything too depressing.

Meditations or Tao Te Ching could be good.
The almanac of Naval Ravikant
Maybe something like “The Book of Extraordinary Facts”. The Chapters are a subject. Health and Body, Arts and Culture. They are several different stories or examples that fall into that group.
You don’t have to track a story, and you can pick the chapter or chapters that fit your mood. There are other editions of different facts, suggestions, history.
You might find something you do want to read more about, or books recommended by others…
Just an idea. Congratulations! (new baby). ❤️
I recommend The Green Mile by Stephen King! It is somewhat depressing, but Stephen King initially released the book in six “installments” and months apart. There’s also several times when the main character, Paul Edgecombe, recalls the story and summarizes it, so if you need to put the book down for days/weeks at a time, you could pick it right back up and not feel behind.
