Ok, I am 46. I barely ready but want to start more.. My favorite book is Anthony Bourdain Kitchen Confidential, my Favorite move is Royal Tenenbaums, I love music, mostly Classic Punk and modern hardcore punk along with indie… I like Westerns, gritty drama & humor that makes you think… I do enjoy Hunter S. Thompson as well.
What is a good easier read or short story book I should look into? Thank you

Factotum, by Charles Bukowski
Out of Africa, by Isak Dinesen
The First Wife, by Paulina Chiziane
Cork Dork by Bianca Bosker is Kitchen Confidential vibes. A journalist spends a year trying to be a sommelier and learning all it means.
Band People by Franz Nicolay might be an interesting NF.
Maybe Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid for a fictional Almost Famous meets Jersey Boys vibe. It’s great as an audio book too.
A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. It’s a series of intertwined stories (kind of a novel, kind of not) focused on people who make music for a living.
