I’ve read a few books on China. I love those nonfiction authors that have covered China’s rise: Peter Hessler, Leslie T. Chang, Rob Gifford, Evan Osnos, and so on.
In the past two months I finished reading two books: JG Ballard’s Empire of the Sun and Paul French’s City of Devils. I’m interested in learning more about China in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Any suggestions?
