Fairytopia is a story about a wingless fairy saving the world from an end by walking (because she can't fly).
There's this theme of her chosing the greater good instead of getting the wings she deaperately wants to fit into the fairy society. And in the sequel it comes again when she has to exchange the wings for a mermaid tail to save a friend.
I just find this story extremaly compelling, original and well done, especially for a kids movie, but I need more, I want a deeper exploration… and a longer story. So I'm looking for a book like that!
I obviously prefer fantasy. I don't have much hope for it also being about fairies living in flowers (books about fairies living in flowers are also welcome even without this specific theme, I like the vibe) although it would be ideal (I just want to read Fairytopia Extended tbh but life is too brutal).
Anyone knows anything that will hit close? Or do I have to write it myself (would that be legal?)?
(Sorry for rambling)

*Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries* by Heather Fawcett comes to mind. (It also has two sequels). It is about a Cambridge professor who studies faerie lore. Without spoiling too much, she sets out to catalog various types of Fae and finds herself mixed up with them. It’s packed full of “facts” about faery mythology too.

I have no book suggestion but yeah I still love that movie and the message of it.. it is really lovely done. I also liked the fact that she did it alone, like it’s hella scary going on alone without a friend.
I’d like a book with a character that has the same energy as Bibble because I love him
(I’m sorry I don’t have any suggestions for you because I really like your prompt, but I thought I’d add mine in case Fairytopia enthusiasts have a suggestion)
