If you are after twists, rather than sci-fi – you could try the old school ‘Roald Dahl’s Tales of the unexpected’ (also made into a TV Show).

Foe by Ian Reid . I’m sure that black Mirror uses because as an influence for one of their episodes (beyond the sea)

The Future, Naomi Alderman
The Endless Vessel, Charles Soule
“You”, Austin Grossman

Greg Egan – Permutation City (I am right now watching Episode 4, Season 07 Plaything, and i think it is a poor ripoff of genius Greg Egan’s science fiction masterpiece).
I also recommend his novel Morphotrophic.
Ted Chiang – The Lifecycle of Software Objects (In my opinion this is Ted Chiang‘s best story-but read both of his compilations of mindbending stories Exhalation and Stories of my Life – never before read anything alike and compared to Jorge Luis Borges‘s fiction. And Borges, by the way, was always believed to one day receive the Nobel Prize for Literature).
And then there is of course William Gibson – Neuromancer/Peripheral
