Heya!!!
I was searching for a book that has the same vibe as 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom', so I would love to ask you for help.
Must-Have Elements:
1. A protagonist who is decent, almost perfect outside (maybe not really perfect) yet flawed inside. Like, for example, maybe protagonist is a man of discipline and reason (a soldier???), but with a suppressed, almost hungering cruelty (heh) beneath his principles.
2. A corruption arc so visceral it feels inevitable. Like, think of a man peeling back his own humanity layer by layer, until there's nothing left but the raw, exposed core of his true self, something like that.
What I Don’t Want:
1. No love interests, no love subplots.
2. No redemption arcs, so the corruption should feel inescapable. Maybe something like 'Blood Meridian'? But without the excessive violence (or at least, not as much, idk).
You can write your recommendations down below or in my DMs if you're too shy, ty!!! <з
