Would appreciate recs for 21st c. (pref. v. recent) literary novels that have generated discussion of late and may be considered innovative and brilliant. Preferably authors under 40. I like Karl Ove Knausgaard, Hilary Mantel, Sally Rooney (somewhat), one novel from Michel Houllebecq. Thank you!

“A Little Life” by Hanya Yanagihara
It’s from 2021, but The Love Songs of W.E.B. DuBois by Honoree Fanonne Jeffers was really good.
