The House of Mirth is an excellent psychological analysis that delves deeply into Lily Bart's mind. The author describes clearly what Lily values and why. Throughout the book, Lily behaves in accordance with her own value system. Other characters in the novel also have their goals, which they strive to achieve. The reader observes the consequences of all these interactions and relationships.
The story and events were consistent with the characters' personalities, which made the book feel real and convincing.
What do you think about this book? Do you know any other books which analyze human character and relationships as well as this one?

I’m currently reading ‘Twilight Sleep’ by Edith Wharton and really enjoying it.
Last month I read most of Amor Towles’ books and I’ve been wondering about how I enjoy both authors and why they give me similar feelings. Towles has a wittier writing style and a more contemporary focus, both have lots to say about social class and dilemmas, shifts from traditions. Perhaps try ‘Rules of Civility’ and ‘Table for Two’.
