    Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.
Seriously I am SO frustrated I can’t begin to tell you.

In my dream, I would read a book where the fmc is a girl even the straightest cis girl in the world couldn’t withstand and the mmc a guy with ACTUAL character who DOESNT only think about sex and violence. (Btw it doesn’t matter if ww, mwm, wm or (not my fav but okay) mm)
It can be the filthiest smut or a complete prude for all I care, I just want something new. Something I haven’t read a hundred times and maybe is not from Booktok or smth like that. I don’t even care about the trope, it can be high/dark/light/middle/idk fantasy/romance/romantasy a little bit horror also never hurts, if mixed with a little bit romance.
As I said before DONT give me mcs (ESPECIALLY MMCS) that have trauma as a sad excuse for personality. I want depth. I want a new storyline. I want to fucking cry and laugh and be in shock.
Right now I’m in a phase of reading my fav childhood books, bcs I simply can’t look at the next retelling of poor-stunning-stubborn-girl-in-trials-fighting-the-handsome-mysterious-shadow-prince-with-weird-name-beauty-vs-beast. (I can SO recommend Enola Holmes btw I will force my kids to read it)
    Books I liked:
    – losers
    – blood of Hercules (the only good thing abt it is the humor of the snake and fmc, but otherwise its the same as always)
    – Some other books that are pretty much a retelling of the beauty of the beast but only because I don’t have a choice.

I am also open to depressing classics/books.

Start reading more historical and literary fiction, it sounds like you’re ready to move on from YA 🙂 Your post is stuffed to the gills with tropes rather than stories. But I promise there are great stories out there. Here’s some suggestions :

      – Anything by Isabel Allende

      – The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

      -Piranesi by Susannah Clarke

      – Babel by R F Kuang

      – Anything by Khaled Hosseini

      More advanced:

      – The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

      – Wild Swans by Jung Chan
