I'd love to explore some well-loved classics or historical fiction from other parts of the world, preferably ones that help me understand more about the culture of different time periods (for example, the way Jane Austen novels helped me understand Regency Era culture and country life in England).
Maybe something related to China or Persia? But open to anywhere! What would you suggest?

“Return to Me” by Lynn Austin is a fictionalized story about when the Jews were allowed to return to Jerusalem by King Cyrus (Cyrus the Great) in 550 BC

The writing style is amazing and written in a way today’s reader can better enjoy and understand the story. Family drama, love, hatred, heartbreak, loss, betrayal, faith struggles, it’s all in there.
But the audiobook performance by Suzanne Toren is the best way to consume this book. She’s amazing.
