I’ve read the original Anne of Green Gables series up to Anne of the Island, and I can’t help but wonder about Gilbert’s thoughts and feelings throughout it all. He’s kind of there and not there in the books, to be honest. One major reason I’m slogging through Anne of Windy Poplars is because it’s formatted as letters Anne sends to Gilbert while she’s away at her job and he at his. We don’t get to see him at all. I’m considering skipping the book entirely, but I’m nothing if not stubborn.
Anyway, since Anne of Green Gables and all of its characters are now in the public domain, I’m wondering if there are any published works written solely from Gilbert’s point of view, preferably ones that are canon-compliant. I know there are probably fanfics written this way, but I thought I’d ask for published book recommendations first before diving into AO3 or FF.net.
Thank you in advance!

Not that I know of, but I’d also really like to read that, because he does kind of evaporate after the first book, but I’ve read that Montgomery had a hard time writing those characters as they grew older.
