Almost done with Lonesome Dove

I know I'll have a book hangover when this one wraps. I want to have another great one waiting. I've heard the other books in this series don't compare. For those of you who love this book, what's another title that got its hooks in you like this one does? I think sci-fi is the only genre I'd say I don't love.
