Hey everyone! So I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy lately, but I’m looking for books that don’t just focus on the magic and mythical creatures, but also dive into real-world issues. Something like The Broken Earth series by N.K. Jemisin or The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang, where the fantasy elements are used to highlight things like war, power struggles, or personal growth.
I guess what I’m really after is a book that makes me think about the world we live in, while still giving me that escape into an entirely different world. Anyone have any recommendations that really blend the two? Would love to hear what books have made you reflect on society in an unexpected way!
