I love it when Si-fi overcomes issues using at least (mostly) realistic science instead of “Quantum Turbo Encabulators” or “Wormholes Kinetic Disassembly”. It’s not that I’m opposed to books using advanced technology, but I feel like it’s almost cheating when it’s not founded in at least some reality.
My favorite books that use this principle are:
-Children of Time series
-The Three Body Problem series
-Red Mars series
-Seveneves
-The Red Rising series
These books are great as while not all the tech is explained in minute detail, they still have to deal with the fundamental issues(like not being able to travel faster than light or the logistics of fighting a war in space).
Thank you in advance for any and all help.
