I’ve been making my way through the Dark Tower series after bull-rushing through ASOIAF and I felt some real fatigue. I scrolled through Amazon Kindle picked a novella (something short cause I needed a and easy win, you know). Ended up finishing “Erdbeere” by Sabina Bailey and just felt a wave of relief. Anybody else start to feel pressure when they are taking on a series or an especially long book? I end up searching high and low for something short and sweet to cleanse the palate.

    1. I rarely ever just plow through a series in succession. Usually I will read one book, then something else, then the next book from the series, etc. Many times I don’t even really make a point of getting through the series that quickly.

I’m actually on Storm of Swords now and desperately crave a short little novel.

    3. Yes, I like to break up the heavy reading with shorter, lighter, humorous reads like the Discworld books, or short mysteries like the Sherlock Holmes stories or Agatha Christie’s works.

Graphic novels man. You get pictures to look at. Alot less word count. And some of the best writers honed their craft there. Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis. Joe Hill’s Locke and Key
