I think a lot of sport psychology books focus mainly on what it takes to achieve a “winning mentality”. I’m looking for something that discusses the mental toll that pro athletes take because of their industry. Many pro athletes become professionals when they’re extremely young, especially football (soccer) players. Some are responsible for their families’ well being, and they are essentially treated like commodities that can be bought/sold. I’m interested to see if there are any books that cover the mindset of someone who has grown up in this environment.
