My friend’s birthday is next week, and I’d like to gift her a book. She enjoys stories that focus on deep character development rather than ones with a clear, goal-oriented plot from the start. For example, she mentioned Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (which I haven’t read yet).
She’s also read a book by a psychologist that explored various human situations, providing analyses of those scenarios, though she couldn’t recall the title.
Could you recommend some books she might enjoy? (I am not a book person so please help)

Hmm, if she is into psychology/fiction works, you cannot go wrong with Irvin Yalom.
I just read The Schopenhauer Cure and it was amazing. All of his books where he mixes his line of work(he is an existential psychiatrist) with fiction and philosophy are great. Just look them up, read some synopses and… you know the rest :))
Good look
Far From The Madding Crowd. If she liked Jane Eyre, she should like this one.
