Hi, I love witches and the idea of witchcraft/magecraft/the arcane but it seems like I can’t find witch protags that are grounded in a more serious story. All I can find are “cozy” witches or stories that involve heavy romance.
Specially I’d prefer books or any media with:

A competent witch that’s an adult but doesn’t necessarily have to be experienced
-
In a serious plot with actual stakes
-
In a setting that’s very witchy/halloweenesque
-
Little romance (minor subplots are okay)
