A family member has asked for a dystopian book as a gift. They are 50+, F, British. They don’t like fluffy or sexy books. Not into fantasy. Does like sci-fi, litfic and thrillers.
They’ve read several. I think it needs to be something newer but as much as I too love a dystopia I’m drawing a blank.

A recently published book that I really enjoyed was The Other Valley. It is a time travel dystopia in which time travel happens geographically… aka the other valley is 30 years in the future or past. The dystopia comes in because obviously people can’t be allowed to travel between valleys and meddle.
I am assuming that she has already read many of the other dystopian classics given her age and interest, but this is a newer book so a safe bet!
