I’ve previewed like 15 books at this point and can’t get hooked into anything. Maybe I’m not giving them a chance, I don’t know. My favorite author is Blake Crouch. I’ve read all his books. I think I like his books for his writing style more than anything. Also, another one of my favorites is The Silence of the Lambs. I like straightforward writing styles that are engaging right off the bat. Another one I read recently that I liked was The Chain by Adrain McKinty. So I’m looking for something that has:
Straightforward writing, short chapters, and a quick start to suck me in.
This can all be summed by saying that my attention span is cooked lol.

Ones that had me hooked from just a few words in after a reading slump:
– “Heart of the Wolf Prince” by JMiaDavies (trilogy but can read as a standalone)
– “Divinity” by CaitSarai
If you’re curious & would like synopsis, just lemme know! 🙂
The Road; Cormac McCarthy

This perfectly describes Kurt Vonnegut’s *Cat’s Cradle* for me personally.
Surely you’ve read all Michael Crichton??
